Caroline Van Hoek (Belgian, 1971) opened her jewellery gallery in 2007 in Brussels. With her namesake gallery, Caroline represented international artists and annually exhibited at the most prestigious fairs. After the galleries closure in 2017 Caroline installed a workshop at home and started making her own pieces. She presented her first solo show at Design Miami/ Basel in 2019 entitled “Toast”. In collaboration with Carpenters Workshop Jewellery Caroline has created 4 limited edition pieces inspired by the work of Mathieu Mategot (1910-2001). Caroline saw the work of Mategot in a new light during her first solo show in Miami, it was from this experience that the initial inspiration for the collection stemmed.
