Franco Giovanni Legler (1922 – 2015) was a Swiss-Italian industrial designer, widely known as the creator of the Basket Chair of 1951. He completed his education in the United States, and moved to Chicago where he founded his own design studio. In 1961, he returned to Zurich and developed his angular, finely balanced lamps.
