Sergio Rodrigues (1927-2014) was a Brazilian designer who contributed greatly to the emergence of Brazilian design on the world design scene. Rodrigues’ focus was on creating furniture that was both truly Brazilian and modern. In 1955 he opened his own interior design studio where he drew inspiration from indigenous culture, anchoring his style towards more organic materials such as wood. Over the course of his working life, Rodrigues designed more than 1,200 models and worked alongside many designers such as Oscar Niemeyer.
