EXHIBITION STATEMENT
Carpenters Workshop Gallery is delighted to return to PAD London, exhibiting a diverse selection of recent works from the gallery’s contemporary artists.
Through innovation and a meticulous dedication to their craft, each artist continues to express the transformative power of art and design through materially advanced and conceptually refined artworks.
In his debut presentation with the gallery, Niko Koronis demonstrates his mastery of marble with three new sculptural artworks. The purity of each design masks the technical proficiency necessary to achieve their sleek geometries, as the Greek artist condenses the principles of classical architecture into futuristic objects.
Australian artist Charles Trevelyan includes his new Supine III, a bronze desk finished in a minutely detailed patina. The artwork’s network of supporting legs proliferate in unexpected directions, inspired by the randomness of the natural world.
Also featured is Paul Cocksedge’s highly original light sculpture, Light and Shade, composed of LED sheets suspended in mid-air. Its composition suggests the sheets are being whipped away in the wind, but Cocksedge finds an eerie stillness within its illuminations, as if having stopped time itself.
Other exhibited artists include Roger Herman, Sylvain Rieu-Piquet, Atelier Van Lieshout, Martin Laforet, Giacomo Ravagli, Vincenzo de Cotiis, Kendell Geers, Pierre Jeanneret, David&Nicolas, Ingrid Donat, Rick Owens, and Nacho Carbonell.
