EXHIBITION STATEMENT
Carpenters Workshop Jewellery presents a stunning collection of contemporary jewellery at PAD Paris 2023, STAND 47bis.
Debuting at the fair is Paris Kain’s Dominion series, an alchemical exploration of material and mythology. Meteorites and Herkimer Crystals form the gravitational core of each ring, in a collection conceptually influenced by universal and divine power.
Also exhibited is a collaboration between multidisciplinary artist Rashid Johnson and LIZWORKS. Creating the Anxious Men collection allowed Johnson a physical means of negotiating with his own fears, finding catharsis in the wearable titanium and gold artworks interspersed with single rubies.
24 unique bronze and 24k gold plated rings are exhibited by French artist Sylvain Rieu-Piquet, each taking the name of a flower. The Helianthus, or common sunflower, ring is an abstracted organic form, shaped via a combination of floral imagery with Rieu Piquet’s own freehand illustrations.
Walid Akkad’s Bull Ring leads his series of pure 18k gold rings styled as minimalist animal silhouettes, alongside Alice Cicolini’s Candy Ring, which is able to be stacked in different layers, variating the gold, enamel, and diamond patterns.
