The Tiss-Tiss Ring Open Gold showcases its distinctive linen patina on both sides of the thin gold band. The name Tiss-Tiss refers to the double-sided nature of Aki+Arnaud’s series, tissu being the French word for fabric.
Inspiration for the Tiss-Tiss series was taken from the Japanese Mingei movement. Mingei celebrates the beauty of handmade artefacts which are crafted with the same level of skill seen in supposedly ‘higher’ art forms. Aki+Arnaud continue to honour this tradition through the many stages of hand-crafting their artworks, including modelling, moulding and casting each metal item.
