The 18-carat gold links of Hermien Cassiers’ NII Necklace are made from an alloy of the artists’ own making. Having studied under Giovanni Corvaja, the Italian goldsmith, she learned how to imbue her own blend of gold with increased strength and torsion, making the gold links uncharacteristically flexible. Cassiers builds the thick chain of this unique necklace from many miniscule components, creating volume from delicacy.
Flexible 18k yellow gold necklace constructed by numerous of fine wires. The necklace is intended to wear short around the neck.

Far from traditional jewellery, Hermien Cassiers (Belgium, 1991) studied design at the Antwerp Royal Academy of Fine Art. Inspired by Architecture and Volume, she creates geometrical gold links, craftily intertwined each other.
