Hermien Cassiers constructs each piece in her Formula X collection from a gold alloy of her own making. Cassiers studied under the Italian goldsmith Giovanni Corvaja, learning how to imbue her own blend of 18-carat gold with increased strength and torsion to make each gold link uncharacteristically strong and flexible.
The NIV Sautoir demonstrates an extended chain of gold links, with the volume of each link expanding and contracting along the length of the Sautoir. The Formula X collection is exclusively made for Carpenters Workshop Gallery.

Far from traditional jewellery, Hermien Cassiers (Belgium, 1991) studied design at the Antwerp Royal Academy of Fine Art. Inspired by Architecture and Volume, she creates geometrical gold links, craftily intertwined each other.
