Kayo Saito manipulates the material qualities of gold to create the soft weightless effect of a feather for this ring. The ring stands as part of the Haiku collection, evoking the beauty of Japanese calligraphy, inspired by nature, beauty and poignant experiences. Saito has extended the ring’s feathered roof over numerous fingers, allowing the ring to adorn the hand as a whole.
Kayo Saito studied metal work at Japanese art college and finished a masters at the Royal College of Art. Influenced by nature, the fragility, poetry, organic forms and energy of plants arouse her creativity and fulfil her aesthetic sense. Through carefully chosen materials and designs, Saito creates unusually delicate and sculptural forms in the shape of precious jewellery.
