Humanoid is one of Atelier Van Lieshout’s more abstract artworks, playing with the concept of pareidolia. The sculptor invites people to see the human soul imparted into the unnatural object, whether it is there or not. This sculpture was the forerunner to Humanoids, a larger public group of figures permanently installed in the Collins Canal Park in Miami.
