Commode Tatoo marks a continuation of Ingrid Donat’s exploration of the commode – an item with which the sculptor has developed an affinity of the course of her career. Across both its bronze exterior and its leather interior, this functional artwork features square, geometric patterns resembling a reptilian skin, like that of a crocodile or even a mythical dragon. Its rounded edges create feminine curves that make the piece appear as if it is breathing.
