Ingrid Donat references the work of 20th century icon André Groult in this distinctive cabinet, translating his spirit into her bronze design. This piece is based on Groult’s Chiffonnier Anthropomorphe, a curved cabinet modelled on a woman's body, which is now preserved in the Musée des Arts Décoratifs, Paris. Donat modernises the work, extending the legs and accentuating the waist of her Hommage a Groult, creating an evocative figure.
Donat’s dialogue with the past champions avant-garde French design, emphasising its history of visionary craftsmanship.
