In the work Clay Basel Chair Bronze, Maarten Baas creates a dislocated image, presenting an informal and playful chair as high art, seen through the visual language of bronze sculpture. The piece is available with either a patinated or a highly polished finish. These two chairs are cast from the same moulds as those of Baas’ Clay series, in which he shaped intentionally naïve forms by hand.
