Maarten Baas’ Bronze series chairs are shaped into intentionally naïve forms.
The Dutch artist hand-crafts clay moulds, from which the dining chairs are then cast in bronze. Baas creates a dislocated image, presenting an informal chair as high art, seen through the visual language of bronze sculpture.
