Inspired by architecture and the aesthetics of Arte Povera, Martin Laforêt merges nobility into industrial materials, infusing them with texture and tactility through hand-crafted processes. In Mould Table, two wooden planks feature as the first layer in a series of geometric shapes; a decomposing stone structure shortly follows with a circle at the top, a web of bronze shafts holding it up high. Defying preconceptions around shape and form, the piece defies gravity with its unexpected composition, earthy tones natural materiality.
