Melchiorre Bega was a leading Italian architect and designer of the interwar era, who was first trained as a craftsman. Both his architectural and furniture design projects are characterized by clean lines and sculptural, balanced volumes. Inspired by the style experimentations of the first decades of the 20th century as well as modernist solutions, he developed an original approach to design that mixed Rationalism and Novecento style. This pair of armchairs features generous, enveloping volumes as well as a refined, clean silhouette.
