Together the pieces of the Ditto series create a landscape where the line between the natural and the artificial is blurred. The Ditto Armchair is an amalgamation of artificialness in itself. It is a clone of Robert Stadler's previous PDT armchair, which in turn was the fictional result of a classical 'pierre de taille' building processed through accelerated aging. Ditto Armchair is made of digitally milled Bardiglio Imperiale marble.

Robert Stadler was born in Vienna in 1966. The designer has always been drawn to the details of objects and the narratives they evoke. He studied design at the Istituto Europeo di Design in Milan before attending the École Nationale Supérieure de Création Industrielle in Paris in the late 1980s. He has continued to work in Paris ever since.
