Roger Herman is known for his innovative ceramic works that unveil an assemblage of colour, texture and process. After a conscious move away from the very traditional manner of painting he learnt at art school in Germany, the artist’s blend of conceptual expressionism can be seen translated onto ceramic works, as seen in the work Small Face Purple, which reflects Herman's ongoing exploration of human faces.
