Tiarra Bell’s practice takes cues from apertures and portals, shaped by her own spiritual beliefs. Bell’s mirrors, such as Dependency, embody the most inspiring values of her Christian faith, such as self-reflection, redemption and hope. Her mirrors function as tools of introspection, rather than for vane or superficial concerns.
The rounded outlines of her artworks are created through joining and coopering ebonized wood into elongated structures, which are lined with gold leaf to provide an internal luminosity.

Born and based in Philadelphia, PA, Tiarra Bell earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Furniture Design from RISD in 2020. Working primarily hand in wood, Bell’s pieces are directly inspired by her Christian faith.
