Vincenzo De Cotiis works his materials with tools such as a blowtorch or sandpaper to imbue them with their own histories, bestowing them with artificial memory, caught somewhere between preservation and decomposition. The DC2003 coffee table references an urban history through its monochrome color scheme and use of fiberglass, a uniquely man-made material and one that De Cotiis has developed a particular affinity for.
