Vincenzo de Cotiis links DC2114 Mirror to the early 20th century Purism movement through the distinctive shape of an inverted triangle in the silver, a motif often used by the proponents of Purism, artists Le Corbusier and Amédée Ozenfant. Purism understands ornamentation to be superfluous to the internal beauty of an object, seeking truth beneath any decorative properties. De Cotiis channels the same material honesty in his work, rejecting extraneous detail and utilising the naturally reflective properties of the bright white bronze and German silver to align the semi-precious metals with their new function.
Artist

Vincenzo De Cotiis
A pioneer of contemporary collectible design, Vincenzo De Cotiis is known for merging art, architecture and design into a singular, sculptural language. Through manifestations that conflate archaic idioms with futuristic expressions, his evocative works embody a vision of design as poetic and non-replicable.
