Crafted from ash, Night Picture is a testament to Castle’s mastery over the medium. Its organic form and scooped seat are anthropomorphic, a common element in many of Castle’s masterpieces. Castle’s pioneering lamination technique, involving stacking layers of wood on top of each other and carving directly into it, can be seen in the exposed grain of the wood.
