Veiled in a Dream is one of the defining works from the latter stage of Wendell’s life and career. Three tapering, conical spires reach upwards, providing the framework for the seat suspended from their side. The forms presented in this work defy the logic of their material. The reality that the work was originally carved from wood before being cast in bronze appears improbably upon inspection of the finished piece.
