Living Through Art

A leading global gallery redefining the boundaries of art and design.

Carpenters Workshop Gallery is the world’s leading gallery for Functionalist art and design, and the pioneering advocate for a life lived through art.

We unite collectors, creators and practitioners within an ecosystem of internationally acclaimed artists. Through our integrated production facilities and heritage artisan-led workshop, we promote the creation of exceptional artworks to be lived with and loved.

Redefining Boundaries

Redefining Boundaries

Carpenters Workshop Gallery was founded on a partnership between childhood friends Julien Lombrail and Loïc Le Gaillard. They first opened the gallery in a former carpenter’s workshop in London’s Chelsea in 2006. Since then, they have expanded to operate four galleries worldwide.

Immersed in the world of art and culture from a young age, Lombrail and Le Gaillard were brought together by a passion for sculptural form and elevated craftsmanship. They shared a vision to unite practitioners from specialised disciplines to produce experimental and innovative contemporary work that redefined the boundaries between art, design, craft and architecture.

Worldwide Galleries

Worldwide Galleries

Carpenters Workshop Gallery operates four permanent spaces in major art destinations worldwide – London, Paris, New York and Los Angeles. Each of the gallery’s exhibition spaces defies the traditional notions of the “white cube” gallery space and instead embodies the cultural language of its specific location, offering a bespoke dialogue with the space and the work on show.

The gallery exhibits at international fairs such as PAD, Design Miami, TEFAF and India Art Fair.
