今年9月,英国设计师Paul Cocksedge在Carpenters Workshop画廊举办个展。这次他挑战了自己从未使用过的材料:工业玻璃板。Cocksedge在设计上的转型之路极为明显。自2013年以一张看似飘浮在空中的“Poised”桌子广受业界瞩目后,他便从灯具设计逐渐转向对工业材料运用的探索:从将工作室地板凿开后制作的Excavation系列家具,到把大理石和泡棉特性对调的Compression系列沙发——这些作品在满足家具功能性的同时,也具有强烈的雕塑感。
