Turning Tricks, a show by Michèle Lamy and Danny Minnick reimagines some of southern California’s most iconic skate locations in an exhibition at Carpenters Workshop Gallery Los Angeles. This unique skateboard, designed by Chris Benfield comes with a unique print.

Chris Benfield is principal of Benfield Partners, a design/build studio based in New York City and Los Angeles. The studio concentrates on commissions that allow for close collaborations with artisans and crafts-people while creating unique settings which reflect clients’ needs and aspirations.

Benfield’s projects range in scale from single family residences and mid-rise buildings to flagship retail spaces for some of the world’s most influential brands. His strategic positioning of art, architecture and design has proven to drive creative and innovative solutions for clients, including Atelier, Rick Owens, Balenciaga and Dover Street Market.

His work has been exhibited in galleries and museums across the United States and is published in ID Magazine, 306090, Interior Design Magazine, OBJEKT International, PIDGIN and Clear Magazine. His most recent design project, Ant/dote, a multi-label fashion boutique in Atlanta, was published in Vogue and recently featured in Wallpaper* Magazine’s “Step into the greatest fashion boutiques from around the world”.

Benfield holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the University of Michigan and a Master of Fine Arts degree with distinction from the Cranbrook Academy of Art. He has taught and guest lectured at a number of schools including Pratt Institute, Art Center College of Design, College for Creative Studies and the Cranbrook Academy of Art
