This piece comes from the Lumps of Clay series by Thomas Nathan. This series focuses on the creation of objects deriving from the complexity of a seemingly simple process- pressing lumps of clay. Each element evokes the creative process through the citing of the artists fingerprint imprinted on each individual element. This instinctive action involves the hands-on process of pressing clay spheres into a mould, a process carried out with meticulous detail and concentration. With the repetition of the movement comes the creation of the recurring spherical forms into a continuous linear pattern.
