French designer Georges Jouve produced sculptural ceramics for modernist interiors. Renowned for minimal yet soft and playful shapes, and glazes experimentations, Jouve participated in several salons inculding the Salon des Artistes Décorateurs. His ceramics, from vases to lamps, responded to the organic modernist furnitures of his colleagues, such as Charlotte Perriand and Serge Mouille. Jouve exhibited his ceramics worldwide and left behind a legacy of biomorphic, sculptural pieces that redefined ceramics craft. This white table lamp of minimalist design demonstrates Jouve's sense of balance, proportions, and glaze mastery.
