Inspired by architecture and the aesthetics of Arte Povera, Martin Laforêt merges nobility into industrial materials, infusing them with texture and tactility through hand-crafted processes. In MCCT1, the oval base features as the first layer in a series of geometric shapes; a hollowed out square shortly follows with a circle at the top, a smaller ring cut out in the centre. Defying preconceptions around shape and form, the piece defies gravity with its unexpected composition, earthy tones natural materiality.
