Cinderella Table (2005) by Verhoeven Twins is the result of a study into how high-tech machinery can be used in the field of product design. Sketches of old furniture were put into a computer that translated them into a drawing that could only be created in the digital world, producing a work that morphs the outline of a baroque table on one side into a bombe commode on another. The work reflects an experiment in creating something unique and spectacular with a machine that is normally used for mass production.

Verhoeven Twins
Joep and Jeroen Verhoeven (both born in 1976) live and work in Amsterdam. Known collectively as the Verhoeven Twins, their practice combines the fantastic with the practical: function and form transformed into mystical narratives, where the feather-light impressions of dreams become objects to see, touch, and use in everyday life.
