Vincenzo de Cotiis’ Baroquisme series translates the levity and spatial experimentation of the Italian Baroque into contemporary sculpture.
The Italian artist shapes and directs light, manipulating the metal frame of DC1610B into a dramatic silhouette. Inspired by the dramatism of the Italian Baroque the abstracted sculpture rejects proportion, and its brass and bronze components mirror the gilded extravagance of Baroque architecture.
Artist

Vincenzo De Cotiis
A pioneer of contemporary collectible design, Vincenzo De Cotiis is known for merging art, architecture and design into a singular, sculptural language. Through manifestations that conflate archaic idioms with futuristic expressions, his evocative works embody a vision of design as poetic and non-replicable.
