Exhibition Statement

The Workshop Shop adds another dimension to Carpenters Workshop Gallery’s activities over the week of Paris+ par Art Basel and Design Miami, offering a line of works by core gallery artists Rick Owens, Ingrid Donat, and Frederik Molenschot, while introducing new pieces from rising stars Harry Nuriev, and Bruno Rousseaud.

The Workshop Shop is a place to discover an alternative range of artworks from Carpenters Workshop Gallery, enhancing the lifestyle of collectors by bridging the gap between function and form. The Workshop Shop ensures artworks remain accessible to a wide audience, as part of its mission to make the contemporary art and design world open to all.

The temporary display welcomed new artist to The Workshop Shop, Alberto Vitelio. His work manifests a drive for innovation that captures the very essence of Carpenters Workshop Gallery, illustrating compelling narratives through unique craftsmanship and artistic vision.

HARRY NURIEV

Harry Nuriev (b. 1984) is a New York and Paris-based artist, architect and interior furniture designer as well as the founder and creative director of Crosby Studios, an interior architecture and design studio established in 2014. Nuriev’s creative practice spans a broad range, including immersive environments, virtual installations, public spaces and object design. All are created through the lens of ‘Transformism’ — a movement Nuriev invented to describe practices that prioritize transformation and transformative experiences that are around him to describe his world and style.

Alberto Vitelio

Alberto Vitelio was born in Santiago, Chile in 1990, in a newly installed democracy, following 17 years of military dictatorship. During this era marked by cultural suppression, persecution and censorship, the artistic scene took on a profoundly dissident and anti-establishment voice. Throughout the 1990s, Chilean art lingered on the fringes while the nation became a testing ground for the neoliberal policies of Milton Friedman.
