For Carpenters Workshop Gallery, Cicolini has created Totem, a collection inspired by her enduring interest in the work of Ettore Sottsass, and the colours and tones of Eileen Gray’s lacquer screens. Sottsass’ ceramic pieces in particular draw on similar themes of ritual and sacred architecture. Totem comprises playful totemic rings, handcrafted in London in the workshop of one of Hatton Garden’s last pattern makers, and enamelled by one of London finest enamel innovators. The Totem collection is exclusively made for Carpenters Workshop Gallery, in a limited edition of 8.
