The monolithic form of the DC2117 Cabinet encapsulates the urban language of Vincenzo De Cotiis’ Crossing Over collection. Executed on a strictly horizontal and vertical plane, columns ascend past broad expanses of fiberglass, to build the facade of the cabinet. The black fiberglass is hand-painted by the artist, textured to express the shared human histories that coalesce in city environments. Interpreted through the lens of urban aesthetics, the cabinet’s shape evokes the silhouette of a skyscraper piercing the skyline, further emphasising the integration with urban imagery.
